Proud of the work that Harvey and I have done to make this happen at our school. And of course to our students for the hard work they put in.

I think you’ll agree, there are people in this world that are three and four times their age and don’t sound this good.

Just a note:

Rhythm section are all our students.

Dillyn Day takes the first sax solo. It’s wonderful too.

The second sax solo which is then followed by a trumpet solo are not our kids by the way. They are two marvelous jazz educators from the famous Eastman School that came in to inspire our kids.

I’ll say!!

José Encarnación
https://www.lawrence.edu/conservatory/studios/saxophone/faculty_activities/node/1325

Clay Jenkins
http://www.clayjenkins.net

From recordings I made the last few days being inside from the cold weather.

I hope some of my college friends in Denton cir. 79’
remember this concert at the Lycium Theater.

Here’s a post of song one (Re: Person I Knew) from show one.

I recently posted song two of the first show Midnight Mood. Enjoy.

Thanks to the handy Sony TCS310 that many of us owned to record anything and everything back then.
I collected a lot of stuff on tape.

Technical note: A popping is heard now and then because of the Limiter flaw on the recorder. Thanks Sony! Oh well, still revealing and fun to hear if you were there. An extremely rare recording probably never heard by most.
MC

Song two of the first show recently added.

Each one is a chorus in length to keep some from getting bored with abstract listening. Part of my practice routine involves a lesson learned from pianist Barry Harris speaking of being in Monk’s living room and hearing him practice one song in tempo for two hours. So I simply roll tape during practice to see what works. Obviously some things don’t. Ha.

Enjoy and it’s free.

---

More choruses of I Think of You if you liked the first couple. These aren’t dissected and were just a practice stream. All different stuff too about 5 minutes worth.

Nardis.

One

Two
